in the Midlands
MADE Architecture started life as a partnership in 2003, set up by Naveed Ahmed to provide a more personalised experience to clients. The business was born in the heart of Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, before later moving to Balsall Common and Hampton-in-Arden – finally finding roots at our bright modern studio in Solihull.
In the early days, MADE was lucky enough to serve as the lead on several exciting architectural design projects up and down the country, growing from two initial partners to a five-strong team in just a few short months and then to a team of 10 within the first two years. After merging with another practice to form a team of 18, the dreaded Credit Crunch hit in 2008. The support of loyal commercial clients carried the business through to 2010, when MADE Architecture was set up as a limited company.
Now, a tight-knit and talented team embodies the MADE legacy with passionate, versatile, and creative architectural and interior design services.
Our People
- PROFILE
Naveed is the founding director and mentor of the MADE team. Naveed loves teaching architectural design and feels that the best way to instil passion and creativity in any design is by drawing freehand. It is this hand-mind-eye coordination and the free flow of cumulative ideas that are then deciphered and synthesised to arrive at that unique design concept.
Naveed has been in private practice for over 20 years, setting up his first office in the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham with a like-minded and creative bunch of people. He studied BA with Honours at the Birmingham School of Architecture and thereafter continued his studies at the same school for the Post Graduate Diploma and Professional Examinations in Architecture. He has also been an external examiner at the Birmingham School of Architecture for the Professional Examinations. Through private practice and other business and property development endeavours, he is not only well-versed in the quality of architecture and architectural design but also has a commercial eye for projects.
He has helped many budding and seasoned developers, always guiding them to achieve more. Naveed has been instrumental with many key regeneration projects and in most cases triggered a vast drive for redevelopment in the area. Naveed is strongly committed to delivering the very best for every client, no matter how small or large the project might be. He is passionate about finding the best solution that makes the best architecture for our clients and the built environment. He loves the process of working closely with clients to ensure that they get the very best.

- PROFILE
Oscar joined MADE as Senior Architect in 2023. Having some Portuguese explorer’s genes, Oscar has experienced different parts of the world throughout his upbringing, having lived and studied in Portugal, Mozambique, Brazil and Spain and he brings that “citizen of the world” attitude into the day to day in the studio and in architecture.
Oscar has discovered his vocation was Architecture from an early age, as he grew up on and around building sites. At first playing around and later on helping his parents building company on site. This has helped him develop a good understanding of spaces, the use of different building materials, construction methods and how a project develops from lines on paper, to 3D CAD models to being built. Being highly technically minded and having an inquisitive mind, Oscar takes full advantage of the latest Architectural Design Software and Visualisation tools to give the customers the most approximate to reality views of their projects.
Being a chartered architect with RIBA and ARB, and having previously practiced in both Portugal and Spain, Oscar brings a wealth of experience to MADE, specially in the residential sector, where he thrives to deliver homes focused on the people, after all “Architecture starts at home”.
For Oscar, Architecture is a multi-faceted highly complex discipline, and if it were a machine, the Architect would be the central cog, connecting all the other moving parts to form an harmonious relationship and achieve the most balanced outcome for the customer/final user. On a personal level, Oscar enjoys playing guitar, riding motorcycles, tasty meals and a good movie/series.
